Up For Grabs: one chore, and the first child to claim it earns it

Hi, I'm Dan, PointUp's founder. Every message sent through the app's support form lands with me, and most of them are feature requests. We get far more than we can build, so we keep count: when different families ask for the same thing in their own words, it moves to the top of the list. That is how a chore app where kids pick their own jobs became this release. Three families asked for it this year, and the first message came in March:
I would like a bucket you can add jobs to that the kids can pull from when they want to do extra chores.
Another parent wanted feeding the dog to show on both children's lists, and to come off the other one's list as soon as one of them did it. A third, writing in German, wanted the first child to hand a job in to get the points, with the job disappearing for everyone else.
Why first to claim
There is always a chore that needs doing, and it would be unfair to give it to just one of your children. So an Up For Grabs job belongs to nobody until a child taps Claim it! Then it is theirs, like any other chore, and the reward is theirs when it is done. No arguing about whose turn it is, and no nagging.
How it works
Pick two or more children when you create a chore, then choose Up For Grabs. The job appears on each of their Quest Boards under its own gold sticker.

A child sees the card and a Claim it! button. The first to tap it takes the job. It leaves the other children's boards and sits in that child's Today section with "Claimed by you".
Jobs that come back
A job can repeat every day, on the days you pick, or every two, three or four weeks. Each time, a fresh one appears for whoever grabs it first. If nobody claims it that day, it simply passes. Nobody gets a missed-chore notice for a job they never took.
What is next
Every release starts with what you ask for, so keep asking. If you have already asked for something and it is not here yet, it is on the list, and every extra family asking for it moves it up. The support form in the app comes straight to me, and so does support@point-up.co.uk.
